Terrific food! We went for a Saturday brunch and enjoyed both their traditional and salmon eggs Benedict as well as their Brave One meaty omelette. We also enjoyed the fresh squeezed orange juice and pumpkin spice latte. Wish there were more tables. Think they would be full. Will definitely return!
I’ve driven past this cafe 100 times and never thought to stop until today. I had an omelet, potato pancake and their breakfast sausage. The veggies in my omelet were fresh and cooked enough to make them soft but not so soft they were mushy. The breakfast sausage was delicious!! Full of flavor but not salty and a huge patty. The bread was wonderful too. My son got the chicken panini and it was delicious. I will be sure to eat here every time I’m in Sarasota. It’s like getting a home cooked meal. Seating is available inside and out and parking was easy.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sunnyside, a charming restaurant that offers a wide array of breakfast and lunch options. Our experience was delightful from start to finish. I opted for the Chicken Basil Mozzarella and Tomato Panini, and it was simply delicious. The panini was warm and perfectly toasted, with juicy and tender chicken that melded beautifully with the fresh basil and mozzarella. It was served with a side of fries that were crisp and satisfying. My wife, who is vegetarian, chose the two eggs with grilled tofu, accompanied by a side of toast and a potato pancake. She thoroughly enjoyed her meal. The eggs were cooked to perfection, and the grilled tofu was a fantastic protein alternative. The highlight for both of us was the potato pancake, a delicious option we had never tried before. It was very similar to a hash brown, but with an extra layer of flavor and texture that made it stand out. Overall, our meal at Sunnyside was fantastic. The diverse menu caters to all tastes, and the food quality is excellent. We left feeling satisfied and eager to return to explore more of their offerings. I took family to Sunnyside Cafe for breakfast and were immediately seated. Kate, the waitress, was engaging, kind and attentive. I had Trad Eggs Benedict amd they were made perfect. The Hollandaise sauce was the best I have had. CJH .
Finally, we found a breakfast place that has good size protein on the menu. They have a dinner size pork chop and 2 eggs (also have NY strip loin or chicken) with a side of salad and fruit. Also ordered lobster egg Benedict (had decent size of lobster) and a Greek salad. Everything was delicious. My 7 y.o. ate his steak in 10 minutes and couldn’t stop saying how delicious it was. My teenager was happy to start his breakfast with meat - he’s in a bodybuilding state of mind and focuses on protein. Happy kids - happy life.
Love this mom and pop cafe. From the moment you walk it is quiet and serene. They did a great job at making you forget you are sitting on the highway. The trees surrounding the location block the view and make it more tropical. The staff were so friendly and inviting. The chef and his sous chef were in sync without speaking to each other. The food is absolutely delicious. My husband had the Sunnyside breakfast and I had the frijoles Benedict. Both were devoured. Can’t wait to come back when we are in town and try it out for lunch.
AMAZING. The pan seared tuna with salad is to die for. Beautiful, and everything in it very intentionally adds to the flavor!! Well seasoned tuna, creamy goat cheese with very good flavor, a good vinaigrette… I’m in awe.
One of the better breakfast experiences we've had in a long time. We were pleasantly surprised by everything, from the beautiful, kind waitress that helped us to the coffee, fresh orange juice, tasty smells in the air and the ambiance. We got the lox with bagel and were blown away, the capers, the goat cheese, the smoked salmon, YUM. Get it. Get the French toast, enough said. We will be back very soon!!
I had Egg/Sausage Benedict with some wonderful tasting Hollandaise Sauce. Wife had a special large bowl of some of the best if not the best Steam Clams we ever had. Local fresh with celery, tomato, onion, garlic in a buttery wine sauce. Terri and Kata took good care of us and Hungarian Chef Thomas paid us a visit and all food made to order. Will visit again soon.
Charming spot. Food is delicious, and service is gracious. I also loved the 80s music in the background. I had the pork chop and two eggs sunny-side up for a late breakfast / early lunch. The pork chop was cooked perfectly, thick and juicy. I subbed out the potato pancake / fruit option for a side salad with their homemade raspberry dressing. All so good!
